Very rare encounter.

A siphonophore.

Colony of individual zooids, clusters of cells that clone themselves thousands of times to produce an extended, stringlike body.

From faraway, looked like an old deteriorating piece of rope.
Coming closer, realised it was a living thing. Saw two of them. Distance between them 200m+.
Never saw something like that before. Longer than 4m.
